Taking part

We want taking part in A Story Well Told! to feel relaxed and enjoyable.

We’ll arrange to meet somewhere you feel comfortable, often at home, and sit down together for a conversation.

There’s nothing you need to prepare. We’ll simply talk and see where the conversation takes us.

What happens?

André will sit down and have the conversation with you, while Damian looks after the filming and sound.

There are no prepared questions. André will start the conversation with a question, and from there we’ll simply see where it takes us.

Afterwards, we will also take a portrait to go alongside your story.

What do you receive?

From your conversation, we’ll create a film telling your story, along with a photographic portrait.

You’ll receive a copy of the finished film and your digital portrait to keep and share with family and friends.

Where will my story be seen?

The idea behind A Story Well Told! is to share these stories, so other people can discover and enjoy them too.

Your finished film and portrait may be shared on the A Story Well Told! website and our social media channels, including Instagram and YouTube.

We may also use shorter clips, photographs and moments from the conversation to introduce your story and the project.

As A Story Well Told! grows, we’d also love the stories to become part of exhibitions, screenings and other ways of bringing them together and sharing them with a wider audience.

We’re also talking with Bruce Castle Museum in Haringey about archiving stories connected to Haringey, so they can become part of the borough’s history for future generations.
